Look At That!
This city never ceases to amaze me. Everywhere I look there's something I recognize from a movie or a TV show or a picture from somewhere. I find myself driving down Fairfax, Hollywood Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard, and Vine St. I have seen the Capitol Records building, Jim Henson Studios, and that ultimate symbol of Los Angeles living, the Hollywood sign that looks down from the hills. This is the same sensation I got when I saw the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, and the Matterhorn. The real Matterhorn, that is, not the fake one at Disneyland, which I have yet to see. No celebrity sightings as of yet, although I'm not altogether sure I'd recognize a plainclothes celebrity if I saw one. But I faithfully insist that every limo I see is carrying Burt Reynolds.
