Week of Feb. 27 - Mar. 5

Monday: I finally got back to Aprons, where I was cooking Caribbean Fish and Buttery Yucca. Turns out people are not fond of ambiguous titles like "fish" or mysterious key ingredients like "yucca." For those of you who don't know, yucca is a starchy root that cooks and tastes like a potato. For those of you who are familiar with yucca, you probably know that I was doing it wrong. Some nice Cuban women came in and informed me of my yucca failings. Monday also marked the return of 'The Apprentice' which is the only "reality" show I watch. Someday I want to have Trump's power, where he can take otherwise professional adults and make them bicker and fight like little children. When it came time to divide up the teams, Trump assigned two captains, and then had them pick their own teams, a la high school gym class. True to form, the fat guy got picked last.

Tuesday: Tuesdays seem to be terribly uneventful for me. I can honestly say that nothing spectacular or remotely exciting happened to me today.

Wednesday: Today bore many similarities to yesterday.

Thursday: Today was Mediterranean cooking day here at home. I made chicken couscous with pine nuts and a spinach casserole which was my first experience with phyllo dough. What a treat that was, it was like dealing with individual layers of tissue paper. Also, I didn't put enough butter on the top layer, and it pretty much turned into carbon. For dessert, I took a stab at making strawberry shortcake, and if I do say so myself, had tremendous success. The shortcakes were warm with just the right amount of crumble, and the strawberries were juicy and sweet. Tonight was a tremendous culinary success.

Friday: Today I went to Stetson to tour the campus and get a clearer idea of law school. Its a very nice campus, very small with exceptionally nice architecture and atmosphere. I'm leaning heavily toward law school, now I just face the long road of getting accepted somewhere. I'll keep you posted on how that turns out.

Saturday: Back in the world of lesser accomplishments, today I got shafted at work. Since my return from California, my Saturday schedule has been to work 8-4. So, dutifully, I showed up at 8 this morning, only to learn that my schedule had changed without my notice. I was instead scheduled to work 1-9, which is decidedly outside the range of normal business hours. Anyway, I complied, because I'm such a good employee. It sucked pretty bad, I was the only one there that night to take care of all the stuff that I took care of when I first became a stock clerk. At least when I got home there was still some killer strawberry shortcake.

Sunday: Ahhh, what a day today was. Started off with pancakes, which is always a good thing. Also, I got to go in an hour later, which is another bonus. It all went downhill from there. Work started with a very spirited debate between me ad the rest of the stock crew over the importance of keeping tabs on stuff in the back room. Then the truck was late. But it was a small truck, which offered a situation that properly exploited would allow for some much needed cleaning of the back room and organizing of much chaos. Management instead chose the less conventional approach of sending the rest of the guys home early, even before the truck was done. Once again, I was left holding the bag. A huge bag of the same garbage I had to sort out the night before. To top it all off, no more shortcake.

Winner & Loser

Winner: Giada De Laurentiis. I have decided that she is my new celebrity crush. If you know who she is, you don't have to ask why.

Loser: Lindsay Lohan. She's no longer my celebrity crush. Maybe is she stops drinking, partying, and packs a few pounds back on, we'll see.

Alex,

Katie's friend Kati here. I wanted to let you know if you want more information on law schools, let me know, my significant other just finished his JD last spring. He'll be glad to tell you to stay as far away as possibly, but if are really set on going what to look for.

Also, Atlanta has 3 amazing law schools and I think you should come here so it will draw Katie here (yes, I'm using you to get to her).

Your blog has begun to alternate between sounding like a Dilbert cartoon and the Food Network.
