The New Thursday!

The La Brea tar pits, are not actually pits of tar as the name would imply. Katie and I learned this on Sunday when we took a stroll over to check them out. They are instead the left over excavations sites of asphalt mines from the 1900s. The pits filled up with rain water over the years, and methane escaping from the earth carries with it little tar bubbles, so there is a persistent and fragrant tar slick on top of the lake. But surrounding the lake is a very nice public park where we spent a few hours reading the most recent Harry potter book. There is also a museum featuring all the skeletons which have been excavated from the pits. We moseyed over to check it out, saw the $7.00 entrance fee, and moseyed right back out. We did take our pictures in front of the fiberglass elephants in front of the pits, so I have proof of this for any of you doubters!

On Tuesday night we all get together to watch TV. Last week Tracy bought us dinner, and tonight she made us dinner; she says its payment for my constant cleaning of the living room and kitchen. From the hours between 8 and 11 there is a plethora of shows to chose from and we have the TV on in the living room and Tracy's DVR working overtime in her room. There is so much "must see" TV on that we call Tuesday the New Thursday. Its a lot of fun.
