Back In The Kitchen Again!

Finally, Katie's check was cleared, after much arguing with the banks in two different states, and we were able to go grocery shopping. Not that we have been starving up until now, but it was nice not to have to worry about how much stuff would cost. Katie was going to have all her fellow interns over for a little dinner party on Saturday night, but it kind of fell through. Apparently it was a long weekend thanks to Columbus Day. I had no idea anyone still celebrated Columbus Day, I don't think we even recognized that in elementary school when every obscure holiday was an excuse to color something. Anyway, her dinner party fell through, so I made salmon and roasted potatoes for dinner. It was quite exquisite, if I don't say so myself! And for breakfast, I made strawberry vanilla pancakes, which tasted even better than they sound. It was very nice to finally have the ingredients to actually make something in the kitchen more advanced than peanut butter and jelly.

Now, some other news which is fun but not enough to write a whole paragraph about. I finally found the "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" DVD for less than $24, so I bought it. Halloween is just around the corner, so Target wasted no time in rolling out the Christmas decorations. Katie is helping cast the Blade TV show, and none other than the guy who played Steve Urkel came to try out for none other than the part of Blade. I guess you have to know who Steve Urkel and Blade are to really find that funny.
